We have been working on map legends and world maps in class this week. We talked about what a compass rose is, and we labeled the world's 7 continents, 5 oceans, and the equator. For homework, I need you to look over the world map examples and practice labeling the oceans, continents, and equator (practice map and quiz map linked). I have provided a compass rose picture with the directions labeled, and a blank compass rose for you to practice on. Make sure and practice because next week we will have a quiz (8/29/13) on how to label a compass rose and the different components on a world map (continents, oceans, equator).     Hey boys and girls, since it is our first day together, I would like to learn a little more about you! We talked about this in class, and you got paper copies to take home. I would like it if you could fill out the "get to know you" and "history questionnaire" worksheets for me and bring them back to class by Friday (8/23/13). Thank you! Have fun with these questions!!
