Since we were working on US maps this week, you should start looking over different US maps that show the Appalachian Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Rio Grande River, Mississippi River, James River, and the Great Lakes. Because we live in America, we need to know locations of important geographical features of our country. Those who went on the hike this past weekend heard me say that the area we were in is a part of the Appalachian Mountains. Later in the week, we will talk about the history of each of these areas, too! In about two weeks, we will have a quiz (9/12/13) on these features so please practice and be prepared!
